Mommie Dearest Inspired Fashion Shoot

'No Wire Hangers,Ever!!' is the notorious line from the dark camp classic movie 'Mommie Dearest'. I found this dark, chilling yet stunning photo shoot inspired by the film and I just had to share it here.

Lindsay Lohan and Kirsten Dunst Miu Miu

I love the dark but sweet photo shoots that Miu Miu bring out for every collection. And with every collection comes a young female star to show off their latest quirky garments. Over the past few years two of these shoots really stood out for me. The first is a Kirsten Dunst shoot.

The slightly clown inspired fashion matched with the 'behind the curtain magic' really brings the collection to life. The theme of rich purples, pinks and reds make for a stunning shoot and Kirsten has the playfull attitude to really have fun with it.

Next is Miss Lohan in a sexy office photo shoot. The red hair is really stunning and again, Miu Miu's love for quirky poses make this one of her more interesting shoots to date.

The Wizard Of Oz Vogue

It was surprisingly difficult to find the full set in HQ but I tracked them down! Shot by the brilliant visual artsit Annie Leibovitz for Vogue US early last year. The stunning shots feature Keira Knightly and different American artists playing different characters from the story.

Kiki Smith as the melting Wicked Witch - one of my favourite artists playing one of my favourite characters.

Picture of the day! Charlotte Church!

This stunning picture of Charlotte Church frozen inside a giant ice cube (!) accompanies a small video of her in the recording studio recording new single,'Snow'.The song is a country ballad affair and to be honest I was not too impressed so I decided not to post it.Just the picture....hopefully the new songs on the album live up to this sort of epicness!

Witch Inspired Fashion Part 2

This is the second half of my special featuring collections and photoshoots in fashion inspired by witches and the occult.

First up is this morbic yet beautifully shot photo series 'Salem Witches' from photographer Anotonella , this is the same photographer who created the 'Merkabah' series in the first half of the post.

Below are two more photos from the photographer with yet another dark, occult theme inspiring the shoot.

Next up is a stunning editorial video called 'The Suburban Occult'.  “The Suburban Occult” was the story of 5 young adults getting together to celebrate one of their birthdays’ and they end up getting a little in over their heads when they start experiementing with the Occult.

Next are samples from the stunning and spellbounding collection from the always brilliant Gareth Pugh.

This 'Hansel & Gretel' photo shoot featuring Lady Gaga as the witch and Lily Cole as Gretel was featured in US Vogue earlier this year. Featured here are two of the shots with Gaga as the witch. I will feature the entire photo shoot in stunning HQ very soon for everyone who is looking!

Last but not least is the slightly twisted shoot.Titled 'Illuminati',it was shot by  Antonella Arismendi.
